About The ARTIST
Growing up climbing, hiking, and fly fishing in the Pacific Northwest, Rick continues to have a deep connection with nature, which inspires his work in oils. Rick paints large studio canvases representing forests, coastlines, mountains, and clouds in different regions and seasons. For Rick, painting, like nature, is a refuge that will take you as deep as you are willing to go.
Rick has also been successful in transforming, integrating, and repositioning companies into global industry leaders. He is on the “virtual bench” of proven executives for The Carlyle Group. Rick has been recognized as a leader within the Young Presidents’ Organization (“YPO”).
Rick has focused his non-profit energy on the University of Virginia Art Museum, where he is the longest-serving member of the Board of Trustees.
Rick received a law degree from the University of Virginia and a Master’s in Economics from the London School of Economics. He received a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Economics from Stanford University, where he also competed for four years on its varsity soccer team, serving as Captain in his final year.
